All contesting candidates and parties asked to refrain from violating guidelines of MCC during election campaigning

Port Blair, April 8: The Office of the Returning Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency have received complaints regarding violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) guidelines by ways of distribution of free ration kits and cash by certain parties to woo the electors in their favour in the forthcoming General Elections. Acting on the complaints, the Returning Officer, ANIPC has taken strict action and Show Cause Notices have been issued to the defaulters. The defaulters have been put on notice and further action as per laws will be taken.

The Returning Officer, ANIPC has asked all the contesting candidates and parties that they should ensure/refrain from any such violation of the guidelines of MCC during the election campaigning and further reiterated that strict action shall be initiated against anyone, if found violating the same.
