Port Blair, April 17: The Chief Electoral Officer, Shri B.S. Jaglan, IAS today held a meeting in the Conference Hall of Returning Officer for the final review of Election preparedness in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency. The Returning Officer, ANIPC, Shri Arjun Sharma, all Assistant Returning Officers (ARO) of HQ were present and ARO of outstation joined the meeting through VC.

Initiating the meeting, the CEO said that the Election Machinery is in the last leg in terms of preparedness for Polling, which will take place on April, 19, 2024 and urged the Officers/officials to work with full co-ordination and highest level of energy for the smooth conduct to election in ANIPC.

The CEO underlined the need for better co-ordination of all agencies and the need for extra effort from the DEO/DCs, ACs and AROs for an error free Election. He further urged for proper utilization of manpower and materials for the conduct of free, fair and transparent election. He also urged for following all the SOPs for the dispatch and collection of EVMs from the Strong Room and the Political Party agents/contesting candidate must be communicated during this process without fail.

Reminding about the robust communication plan put in place, the CEO urged for dissemination of the two hourly Polling report from all the Polling Station at all cost for its further transmission to ECI. Apart from this, the reports of the readiness of Polling Stations, completion of Mock Poll and starting of voting has to be communicated step by step.
