Port Blair, April 26: The Department of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, A & N Administration as per the order of the Hon’ble Court is organizing the second phase of Special Camps from April 22, 2024 onwards for identification and issuance of Ration Card to those eligible left out migrant labourers residing in this UT who have been registered on e-Shram portal of the Labour Department and have not yet received Ration Card either in their native States/UTs or in the UT of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The Department has also constituted area wise teams for organizing Special Camps in close coordination with the elected representatives of the respective Gram Panchayats and Municipal Wards. The area wise team has already been published in the Daily Telegram on April 26, 2024.

The left out migrant labourers may also approach the Directorate of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Port Blair and respective Supply Units of other Islands with valid document required for Ration Card.

However, since One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC) has been implemented in the UT, migrant labourers registered on e-Shram portal, possessing NFSA Ration Card (AAY & PHH) in their respective States/UTs are free to obtain their entitlement of foodgrains from any of the Fair Price Shops of this UT without transferring their Ration Card to this UT from their native States/UTs.
