Mayabunder, May 15: In order to resolve various inter-departmental issues and public grievances, the Deputy Commissioner, N&MA, Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS conducted a field visit to Basantipur, Harinagar and Swadeshnagar Gram Panchayat along with Pradhan, Zilla Parishad and Samiti Members and Officials from Revenue, APWD, Electricity, MGNREGA and Rural Development.
The DC, N&MA inspected the ongoing MGNREGA work in Basantipur Panchayat along with Pradhan and directed the officials to set a target for completion of work in a time bound manner. Issues were raised by the local public regarding construction of two culverts on the road to sustain the road during the rainy season, the Deputy Commissioner directed the MGNREGA Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineers to include the work in remaining mandays and complete it. The Deputy Commissioner also directed Electricity Department for early completion of pole erecting work in next 10 days and transformer installation work in Basantipur Panchayat to overcome the low voltage issues in the area. Regarding the issues with respect to road under PMGSY, the APWD officials were directed to follow up and expedite the works.
Thereafter, the Deputy Commissioner visited Harinagar Panchayat where Pradhan Harinagar showed the locations of set apart for Post Office, ANIIDCO Petrol pump, for which, the Tehsildar was directed to expedite the reports. Further at Harinagar quarry site, he directed the Revenue officials engaged at CCTV Control Room to monitor the activity and not to allow any illegal quarry operations.
The Deputy Commissioner along with PRIs and APWD officials visited Korangnallah water source, where Dam is proposed. At the project site, the APWD officials briefed that the survey work is underway and shall be completed soon; afterwards further work will be taken up. PRIs have requested for early completion of the work as this is a major source which will cater to Harinagar, Basantipur, Swadesh Nagar and Mayabunder area during the summer season.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited the Model CC drain constructed under MGNREGA and appreciated the officials and workers for completion as per standards. The Deputy Commissioner visited the playground area where gabion wall construction work is underway by APWD, where PRI members requested to extend the boundary as the overflow of water will damage nearby agricultural land. Necessary instructions were given to the Revenue officials for conducting demarcation and to process further.
Further, the Deputy Commissioner alongwith Pradhan, Swadesh Nagar inspected the demarcation of playground land and construction of gabion wall to divert the nallah flow and its further development. He also visited the bridge where PRIs have requested for construction of road to facilitate the movement of Shantipur villagers, for which, instructions were given to APWD Officials to include the work in action plan and process it further.
