Mayabunder, May 16: The Chairman, District Health Society (DHS), North & Middle Andaman has taken a significant step towards improving healthcare accessibility by providing Tablets to all CHOs of North and Middle Andaman district to initiate the Tele-consultation services through e-sanjeevani app. The main aim of this initiative is to enhance healthcare access to rural population especially, the senior citizens and pregnant women and children of the district by leveraging technology, in which, Community Health Officers plays a very vital role.

Through e-sanjeevani app, Community Health Officers will connect patients to the Specialist Doctors at GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair and will provide healthcare advice and consultations to the patients in rural areas by ensuring good health for all. The focus is on improving healthcare delivery and ensuring that even remote areas have access to medical expertise.

The Chairman, DHS, N&M Andaman also directed the Community Health Officers to conduct regular field visits and provide special care and assistance through tele-consultation service to elderly patients and pregnant women who are not able to visit the Sub-Centres regularly.

This step towards digital healthcare is commendable, as it bridges geographical gaps and brings quality healthcare closer to the needy people in the district.
