Port Blair, May 21: The District Administration, South Andaman has carried out significant operation and continues its unwavering commitment to reclaim public spaces through determined encroachment drives and reaffirming its commitment to preserve community spaces and ensuring lawful use of public property.

The Revenue officials of Little Andaman Tehsil during the anti-encroachment drive evicted fresh encroachment at Hutbay village and an area 200 sq mtr has been restored to government khata.

At Badmaspahad village, encroachment over government land was removed and an area of 0.05 hects was restored to its original position in Ferrargunj Tehsil.

Further, unauthorized structure constructed over the Govt Land beside Industry office, Middle Point in shape of petty shop has been removed in Port Blair Tehsil.

Strict vigil and monitoring is being done by the Revenue Authorities and in its continuous efforts 10800 sq. mtrs of land has been restored back from encroachment by unscrupulous elements in past few days in South Andaman District.

The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman cautioned the General Public to refrain from encroaching on Government land and that the District Administration has zero tolerance towards encroachment on government land and it shall uphold the interest of law against encroachers and serious action shall be fixed upon those supporting the encroachers.
