Port Blair, May 24: The general public and consumers of Electricity Department have been informed that heavy rain is likely to continue in coming days and squally winds exceeding 40 Kmph shall be experienced as stated by Directorate of Disaster Management which may cause damages to the Transmission & Distribution systems. All the consumers, general public and Govt. Departments in A&N Islands have been requested to inform any incidents related to electrical faults like falling of trees / branches over the transmission lines, falling of electric poles and broken HT / LT lines on the ground or any kind of flash noticed in the T&D system to their respective Site Offices and Electricity Central Control Room (Toll free No. 1800-345-1111) or nearest Police Station immediately.

The general public have been advised to stay away from any type of snapped conductors/cables and electric poles to avoid any mishap. The officers and staff of Electricity Department are committed to take quick actions to repair the damages caused due to inclement weather and restore power supply as early as possible. The co-operation of general public in this regard will be highly appreciated.
