Port Blair, May 25: The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, visited the Fisheries Museum-cum-Aquarium of the Department of Fisheries today. He was accompanied by Commissioner -cum- Secretary, A&N Administration, Smt. Nandini Paliwal, IAS and Secretary (Fisheries), Shri Vishwendra. 

During the visit, the Director (Fisheries), Shri Vikram Singh apprised the Chief Secretary about the proposed developmental projects for revamping of the Museum-cum-Aquarium which will include bigger aquarium tanks, exclusive cylindrical tanks and state of the art touch pools which shall promote tourism and also focus on better interaction of tourist with marine biodiversity. The Deputy Director (Fisheries) briefed the Chief Secretary about the live marine ornamental fishes displayed at the Fisheries Museum-cum-Aquarium, the corals at display in the Museum alongwith the preserved marine specimens.

The Chief Secretary took keen interest and appreciated the Department of Fisheries for maintaining and displaying marine ornamental fishes. He also instructed the Department to exhibit live aquarium of fishes and put up big attractive signages as an eye catcher for the tourists.
