Port Blair, May 27: The Director General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS took a momentous step today towards modernizing governance model in A&N Police by inaugurating the "QR Code based Government Property Inventory & Management System" at the India Reserve Battalion HQ, Port Mout. The ceremony was attended by senior officers of Andaman & Nicobar Police including Smt. Sindhu Pillai A, IPS, IGP, ANI and Smt. Monika Bharadwaj, DIGP (IRBn).

This newly introduced “QR Code system” represents a significant advancement in e-governance, specifically in the management of government assets. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, this system will revolutionize the tracking and monitoring of government properties, ensuring a seamless and transparent process. Each asset will now be tagged with a unique QR code, allowing for efficient retrieval of information regarding its location, status, and utilization. It is noteworthy to mention about the commendable efforts of Sub-Inspector (Wireless) Alok Kumar Singh and HC (Wireless) E. Chander Sekhar of IRBn who spearheaded the development, implementation, and maintenance of the QR code system. Their contributions undoubtedly play a pivotal role in ensuring the success and effectiveness of this transformative initiative.

Guided by the visionary leadership of the DGP, ANI, numerous e-initiatives are undertaken across various units of the A&N Police to augment the policing capabilities under “Digital India”. In the same line, implementation of “QR Code System” in IRBn is yet another initiative towards modernization.

The inauguration event was witnessed by officers and staff of IRBn, A&N Police. The entire event was organised by Shri Naveen Kumar, Deputy Commandant, IRBn under the supervision of Ms. Shweta K Sugathan, IPS, Commandant, India Reserve Battalion.
