Port Blair, May 31: The 29th Round of Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) Vaccination, as part of the 4th Phase of the National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP), will begin in the South Andaman district w.e.f. 1st June, 2024 and will continue for one month. This comprehensive program includes vaccinating cattle and buffaloes against FMD, ear tagging these animals, and registering them in the Pashudhan Portal.

To facilitate this initiative, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services will deploy vaccination teams to visit farmer’s doorsteps starting from 1st June, 2024. The DAH&VS has requested all farmers and livestock owners to cooperate fully with the vaccination teams. Their support and active participation are crucial for the success of this program.

Vaccinating your animals not only protects them from the severe impact of Foot-and-Mouth Disease but also enhances the overall health and well-being of the entire animal population.

Farmers have been urged to support the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services in this crucial effort. Their cooperation is the key to the success of this program and the continued health and prosperity of the livestock and communities.
