Mayabunder, June 1: The Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman, Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, conducted an extensive cleanliness drive in the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, AC Offices, Tehsil Offices and other Offices under Revenue Department today, in which, all the Officers and staff of Revenue Department joined hands to create a clean and healthy environment in the Office and their premises.

On the occasion, field visit was also conducted to Pahalgaon and Chainpur Gram Panchayats to inspect the ongoing efforts being taken by the Gram Panchayat under the Swachh Panchayat Abhiyan, a key initiative aimed at enhancing cleanliness and sanitation within the Panchayats.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by the Officials of APWD, PRI, Pradhan of the respective Panchayats, Panchayat Secretary, and other officials. The visit involved a thorough review of the sanitation projects implemented under the Swachh Panchayat Abhiyan, with a focus on community participation and sustainability.

During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner and his team interacted with local residents to understand the impact of the cleanliness drive and to encourage active community involvement. Shri Meena emphasized the significance of maintaining high hygiene standards and urged the local bodies to continue their dedicated efforts towards a cleaner environment.

The Pradhan and Panchayat Secretary provided detailed briefings on the progress and challenges of the Swachh Panchayat Abhiyan. Officials from the Revenue and APWD Departments discussed the ongoing infrastructure developments and future plans to support the cleanliness initiatives.

The Deputy Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the progress observed during the visit and reaffirmed the Administration's support for the Swachh Panchayat Abhiyan. He highlighted the importance of continued efforts and collaboration among all stakeholders to achieve the mission's objectives.

The Deputy Commissioner concluded the visit by appreciating the efforts of the Panchayat members, officials, and the community, encouraging them to maintain the momentum and make the Swachh Panchayat Abhiyan a sustained movement.
