All Police Stations Under Andaman & Nicobar Police Are Now ISO 9001:2015 Certified

Port Blair, June 6: Andaman and Nicobar Police is proud to announce that all jurisdictional Police Stations of A&N Islands (20) have successfully obtained ISO 9001:2015 Certification (except Katchal P.S, which does not have a Permanent building). This prestigious certification acknowledges the commitment of A & N Police, to deliver high-quality policing services and maintaining international standar.ds in management and operations.

On the directions of Shri Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Director General of Police, A&N Islands - North & Middle Andaman District under Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS took the initiative and Police Stations Rangat and Diglipur, obtained ISO 9001:2015 Certification in November 2023 followed by the ISO certification of the remaining 05 police stations N&M district in April-May 2024.

Simultaneously, Nicobar Police District under the supervision of Sh. Sunny Gupta, IPS, Superintendent of Police Nicobar District also achieved the milestone and got all the 05 Police Stations - including Police Station Campbell Bay, the Southernmost point of the Country, ISO 9001:2015 Certified.

Going a step further, South Andaman District, along with its 09 Police stations, also successfully got the SDPO and SP offices, ISO Certified in May and June 2024.

The certification process involved rigorous audits and evaluations conducted by independent experts, ensuring that all aspects of police station and office operations meet the stringent ISO standards.

Key improvements and initiatives that led to the ISO certification include:

Establishment of comprehensive SOPs to streamline operations, ensure consistency, and enhance response time across all police stations;

Instituting regular training programs to keep the police force updated on the latest practices in law enforcement and citizen service;

Prioritizing initiatives to foster better communication and cooperation with in the community to ensure a more responsive and approachable Police Service;

Upgrading technological infrastructure to improve data management, case tracking, and overall efficiency in operations and

Establishing robust feedback mechanisms to continuously monitor and improve the quality of services provided to the public.

The certification, awarded by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), demonstrates the dedication of A&N Police in enhancing service efficiency, accountability, and public satisfaction. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Police personnel and signifies their commitment in upholding the highest standards of service and ensuring the safety and security of the Islanders.

Shri Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Director General of Police, A&N Islands, lauded the relentless efforts and dedication of all Officers and personnel who made it possible and assured that all Fire Stations, as well as other Units will also achieve this feat shortly, to bring uniform standardization and best practices across the Police force.
