Port Blair, June 9: The Secretary PBMC, Shri Amit Kale, IAS, along with the Ward Councillor Ward No. 01, SE, EEs and other Officials of PBMC inspected various areas at Haddo Ward No. 1 today.

At the major drain near Lillypur Mosque, the Secretary PBMC took stock of the cleanliness of the drain and its surroundings. He instructed the concerned Sanitary Officials to formulate a plan for better and regular cleaning of the drain by deputing an e-rickshaw for easy access to the site and to constitute a team dedicated specifically to de-silt the major drains on a regular basis.

At Haddo Jetty road near Gate No. 3, the Ward Councillor highlighted the issue of regular water logging due to the insufficient dimension of the existing culvert. The Secretary directed the concerned Engineers of PBMC to coordinate with PMB Officials and work out a permanent solution at the earliest within specified time frame.

At Welcome Park Haddo, the Secretary directed the concerned officials to immediately frame estimates for renovation and revamping of the park along with provision for open gym and aesthetic lightings.

At Clear Water Reservoirs behind Forest barrack Haddo, the Secretary directed the concerned officials to urgently take up the repair works of the CWRs and clean its surroundings. The Secretary, PBMC further directed to repair all the valve chambers and provide chamber covers.

On inspection of major drain near MES boundary Haddo, the Secretary directed the Sanitary Officials of PBMC to ensure regular cleaning and de-silting of the drain to prevent water logging.
