Port Blair, June 12: Shri Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member of BJP and Former State President of BJP-ANI, has penned a letter to the Chief Secretary of the A & N Administration urgently seeking intervention to provide relief and compensation for the victims affected by the flood in Diglipur.

In the letter, Shri Jolly highlighted the devastating impact of the heavy flood in the Diglipur region. It is evident at first glance that there has been extensive damage caused by the flood, affecting agricultural fields, crops, cattle, roads, and other critical infrastructures.

He emphasized the immediate need for proper assessment to be conducted to ascertain the extent of the damages and for urgent relief measures to be initiated. Shri Jolly underscores the urgency of the situation by pointing out that villagers' houses are inundated with rainwater, necessitating their immediate evacuation to safer shelters and provision of essential supplies such as food and other necessities. Additionally, measures need to be taken to protect the cattle.

To facilitate a comprehensive assessment of the damage, Jolly suggested that a joint inspection be conducted by teams from the Revenue Department, Agriculture Department, Fisheries Department, and Animal Husbandry Department. Following relief and rescue operations, it is imperative that the victims are adequately compensated without delay.

The administration is urged to take swift and decisive action to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the flood in Diglipur.
