Port Blair, June 13: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Shri. Rangalal Halder has called upon the Directorate of Health Services, A & N Islands, to urgently address the water supply issues affecting the toilet blocks at the G B Pant Hospital, which was constructed in the year of 2022 under the MPLADS fund as a part of the hospital complex.

During a recent visit to the hospital by Shri. Halder, many visitors have placed their concern over the significant decline in the water supply to these toilet blocks, which was deficient over the past few months. The lack of adequate water has resulted in unsanitary conditions, rendering the toilets virtually unusable and posing a serious health risk to visitors.

He stated that, "The lack of sufficient water supply has created a highly unhygienic environment which not only impacts the health and well-being of those who need to use these facilities but also increases the risk of infections and other health complications."

In light of the critical nature of this issue, Halder requested the Directorate of Health Services to take immediate steps to restore and maintain an adequate water supply to the toilet blocks.

Furthermore, he has requested the Medical Superintendent to conduct a thorough inspection of the facilities to assess the current state and identify any further areas requiring attention at the hospital premises.
