Port Blair, June 14: The Department of Fisheries, in association with ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Cochin proposes to organize a three days Training Programme on ‘Marine Ornamental Fish Breeding’ from July 2 to 4, 2024. The training programme includes classroom lectures and practical session on hatchery technology, breeding, seed production and rearing of common marine ornamental fishes involving 25 selected participants from A&N Islands.

This programme will be a unique opportunity for the Island budding entrepreneurs to initiate ventures in the field of Marine Ornamental Fish Production and Marketing. The Department will handhold the trainees in initiating projects under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) after successful completion of the training programme. The experts in the field of Marine Ornamental Fish Breeding Research from ICAR-CMFRI, Kochi will be taking the sessions in 3 days long programme.

Applications have been invited in prescribed format from interested Fishers/Fish Farmers/SHGs/ Entrepreneurs/Tribals and unemployed youths of A & N Islands to undergo the training programme.
