Andaman & Nicobar Administration Fails to Address the Distress Call
Port Blair, July 30: Atleast 7 persons including the Doctor at the Health Centre at Chouldari Village in South Andaman District have been confirmed as COVID-19 positive. Yet the Health Centre continues without mandatory testing for the remaining staff posted there. The staff including paramedics are forced to visit the centre, which remains as a unsafe zone for all.

The world has been in lockdown since what feels like an eternity. It has given every one more time to introspect which has brought up their mental struggles to the forefront. A lot many times, people who might be at unrest mentally occupy themselves with chores/socializing and neglect these issues. But with the inability to go out, the lack of physical contact has definitely added to the feelings of loneliness, depression, confinement. It’s thus important to understand that most people who attempt suicide or die by suicide don’t want to die – they just want their pain to end or can’t see another way out of their situation.

Port Blair, July 26: Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated on 26th July every year in honour of the Kargil War Heroes for their courage, valour and sacrifice, after the successful completion of Operation Vijay. The Kargil War was fought for more than sixty days on the icy heights and High Altitude Area of Western Ladakh.

Port Blair, July1: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has once again let down the aspirations of the remote islanders of A&N Islands after it decided to delay the launch of the Submarine Optical Fibre Cable project (CANI) on 1st of July 2020. There has been much hue and cry over operationalizing the CANI Project, especially in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, which has forced the students to opt for online classes.
