Port Blair, Sept. 26: An awareness programme to sensitize the general public and youth regarding the various provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act 2012 was conducted at Yatri Niwas, Haddo, Ward No. 1 by ICDS, Urban Project in coordination with District Child Protection Unit, PRI, Health Department, Education Department & Police Department.  Awareness on different topics like child abuse, girl child safety, preventive measures, role of parents and care givers in bringing up to the children, service provided by the Govt. Department, rehabilitation, legal matters etc. were discussed with the public.

Port Blair, Sept. 26: All concerned found eligible for recruitment against the vacant post of Mazdoor in Industrial Establishment of Wildlife Division, Haddo, Department of Environment & Forests, A & N Administration for which vacancy Notice was published vide Notification No. WL/LS/48-A/3869 in the Daily Telegram dated 04.04.2017 have been informed that the Physical Endurance Test (PET) is being conducted from 15th September, 2023 to 04th October, 2023.

The general public and Government Departments have been informed that the power supply will remain suspended at Sippighat, Nayasahar and Guptapara on Sept. 27 from 8 am to 5 pm in connection with cutting of road side trees by BSI at Nayasahar.

Port Blair, Sept. 26: The public holiday declared vide the Administration’s Notification No. 110/2022 dated 25.10.2022 on Milad- un-Nabi will now be observed on Sept. 29, 2023 instead of Sept.28, based on the sighting of Moon as conveyed by the Chairman, A&N Hilal Committee.
