Port Blair, Feb 28: Chinmaya Mission Port Blair in collaboration with PANKH NGO will be celebrating International Women's Day with the theme of "inspire inclusion" on Sunday 10th March at Chinmaya Mission Auditorium. The programme will be held from 9 am onwards followed by lunch The program will include an exhibition and sale for the benefit and skill development of the ladies. Different competitions including Rangoli, recipe making and artistic salad cutting will also be conducted. followed by a session on healthy life and happiness.

Port Blair, Feb. 28: The Directorate of Social Welfare hosted an enlightening online video conferencing session focused on the Child Helpline Number 1098. The virtual meeting brought together PRI Members, ASHA Workers, Health Workers, Women Helpline (WHL) members and Teachers, uniting them in a common cause to safeguard children's rights and welfare.

The session was inaugurated by Ms. Beena Das, Helpline Administrator (CHL). She elaborated on the operational aspects of the Child Helpline and emphasized the integral role it plays in our society.       Smt. Shvatha Priya, Call Operator (CHL), spoke about 'Disability in Children'. She shared insights on recognizing issues faced by children with disabilities and provided guidance on leveraging the Child Helpline (1098) for resolving these complex challenges.

Port Blair, Feb 27: In a notable achievement, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have once again reached a significant milestone, securing the top position with 96.67% among Union Territories and secured the 7th Rank among the States/UTs in the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) PRAGATI Dashboard of the National Crime Records Bureau, New Delhi for the month of January 2024.The CCTNS is a flagship project of the Ministry of Home Affairs, which aims to create a nationwide networked infrastructure for the integration of all Police stations across the country. The Andaman and Nicobar Police has achieved this milestone by achieving 100% connectivity among its Police stations, replicating 100% data from SDC to NDC, and ensuring a 100% response rate on the NCRP helpline, among other accomplishments, for the month of January 2024. Andaman & Nicobar Islands has consistently maintained its high ranking in CCTNS among all States/UTs including the first position for the 3rd time within eight months.
