This significant initiative took place at Nayabasti Community Hall on the 12th of February, 2024, marking a pivotal moment in the empowerment of rural women in the region.

The Commission functions by addressing the issues that relates to children and with an aim to create an environment wherein children are able to grow without any threat to their safety and well-being.

Port Blair, Feb 13: A five days training programme on ‘Office Management including Office Procedure, Noting and Drafting, Record Management & Service Book’, organized by the Administrative Reforms & Training Wing of the Administration in association with the Institute of Secretariat Training & Management (ISTM), Department of Personnel & Training, Govt. of India, New Delhi for the Head Clerks, Higher Grade Clerks and Lower Grade Clerks of Amalgamated Clerical Cadre working in various Department of A&N Administration got underway here yesterday.  

Car Nicobar, Feb 13: Sports Authority of India, STC Car Nicobar under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has commenced its residential programme from 1st February, 2024 at Modern Sports Complex, Lapathy.  In the coming weeks of February, selection trials will be conducted at Chowra Island. The SAI STC Car Nicobar has three residential disciplines viz. Cycling, Weightlifting & Athletics. Under this flagship STC scheme, the selected trainees can avail free lodging & boarding facilities, sports kits, sports equipment, expenses covering competition exposure, education and miscellaneous.

Diglipur, Feb 13: To conquer the menace of illicit ganja at Diglipur, PS Diglipur proved their mettle once again by ongoing tough against the drug peddlers.

On the basis of credible information received that one person namely Mithun Halder has cultivated cannabis plants (Ganja plants) in his residence area at V.S. Pally Diglipur. A raiding team led by Insp. K. Binoj, SHO, PS Diglipur, alongwith police team comprising of SI Abdul Shakil, PCs Abubacker Siddique, Sudhir Toppo, Debsai Toppo, Trilochini Kumari and Mritunjay Das with two independent witness under the supervision of Shri. Brij Mohan Meena, SDPO Diglipur, conducted search outside of his residence and recovered 05 Nos. cannabis plants (Ganja plants) measuring approux 2.1 mtrs were uprooted and, on weighing, it was found a total of 1.570 Kgs. Subsequently Mithun Halder, S/o Late Nalini Halder (34) yrs R/o V.S Pally ward No. 2, Diglipur was arrested and a case has been registered at PS Diglipur under NDPS Act against the accused.
