Port Blair, Oct. 15: The A&N State Sub Junior (Under 15) Chess Championship 2023 organised by Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA) which began on 14th October 2023 concluded today successfully with prize distribution ceremony at Hotel TSG Emerald View, Phoenix Bay, Port Blair.

For the first time in the history of A&N Islands, the chess games of the tournament were made live successfully by using Digital Chess Boards through Digital Game Technology Live platform where chess enthusiast can view the chess games live through a link @ https://view.livechesscloud.com

Port Blair, Oct. 15: The Prevention of Cruelty of Animal Act, 1960 has provision for alleviation of suffering of animals. There are various Rules under the PCA Act 1960, which address issues concerning cruelty to animals. Section 11 of the PCA Act 1960 prohibits confining animals in unreasonably small spaces. In this context, use of Glue trap method which inflicts unnecessary pain and suffering to the rodents is not recommended.

Campbell Bay, Oct. 15: Usha international and Hope foundation jointly searched and found 15 needy women in this Great Nicobar Island Campbell Bay, for training under Usha Silai School. The Training started on 05/10/2023 in the presence of Shri. Pradeep Kumar Singh (BDO), Pralad Singh (Pradhan Laxmi Nagar) Smti. Kulsum Bibi (BOARD MEMBER) Hope Foundation and Shri Saket Naskar (REGIONAL MANAGER EAST) for Usha International, who made it all the way possible to witnessed the opening ceremony.

Port Blair, Oct. 15: As part of Ayushman Bhavah campaign, the District Health Society, South Andaman under National Health Mission conducted Ayushman Bhavah Health Camp at CHC Bambooflat today in coordination with Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Science (ANIIMS) & Directorate of Health Services, A&N Administration. The health consultation / screening was provided to around 112 patients by specialists in Medicine, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Surgery, ENT & Ophthalmology.
