Port Blair, Dec. 7: In a ground-breaking cyber operation, the Cyber Cell, Port Blair, has successfully apprehended one A. Ashwin, a college student, for his involvement in a sophisticated cybercrime case. This case involved the morphing of victim's images followed by their dissemination to the friends of victim alongside threatening emails.

The investigation, initiated after a formal complaint by the victim, revealed the disturbing use of advanced techniques to morph images and orchestrate cyber threats. Such acts not only violate the law but also inflict severe emotional and psychological distress on the victims.

Diglipur, Dec. 7: On 07/12/2023 acting on an input received from reliable source of having illicit liquor/lehen at Kishorinagar jungle, SHO PS Kalighat took swift action by forming a specialized team. The dedicated team led by SI Silpi Singha, SHO PS Kalighat comprising of PCs Sushil Sarkar, Ranjit Biswas and Eleen conducted a comprehensive search operation in the Parangara and Kishorinagar III jungle areas.

Port Blair, Dec. 7: Chinmaya Mission Port Blair will be organizing Annual Geeta Gyana Yagna (Pravachan on Bhagwat Geeta) from 18th December to 24th December 2023 at Mission Auditorium. Swami Abhedananda Saraswati, Acharya Chinmaya Mission, South Africa will be giving the discourse on the 15th Chapter of Bhagwat Geeta in the evening from 6 pm to 7.30 pm. Morning session will be held on 19th December onwards from 7 to 8 am. The topic for the morning discourse will be Bhikshu Geeta from Bhagwat Mahapuran.  The Mission has invited all citizens for the programme.

Port Blair, Dec. 7: World Soil Day, 2023 was observed by Department of Agriculture in association with Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) in various Gram Panchayats of A & N Islands yesterday. The event in South Andaman was conducted at Shoal Bay and as part of ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ (VBSY), wherein a stall was setup by Agriculture Department for dissemination of information & activities undertaken by the Department which was organized by the Rural Development Department.      Soil Health Cards were distributed to the farmers.
