Port Blair, Nov. 26: Continuing the action against illegal activities in South Andaman District, the Police team of Hut Bay seized huge quantity of crystalline Methamphetamine weighing 4.295 KG. Accordingly, a case under NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Hut Bay.

On 24/11/2023 at 0500 hrs, a credible information was received from reliable source that some unknown person had hidden Crystalline Methamphetamine near Jackson Creek Jungle, Little Andaman for illegal purpose.

Port Blair, Nov. 26: The State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Shri Ajoy Bairagi has requested the Lt. Governor and Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to fulfill the long pending demands raised by the PRI Members and to resolve the protest done by the PRI Members of North & Middle Andaman.

In his letter Bairagi highlighted that the PRI members wrote several letter over years to A&N Administration and GOI for their genuine demands and the same was not resolved, which forced them to take the path of Non Cooperation. He also mentioned that the PRI members were supported by the villagers.

Port Blair, Nov. 26: AMUL, Port Blair celebrated National Milk Day which falls on 26th November every year to commemorate the efforts of Dr Verghese Kurien, the brain behind the White Revolution. Dr Kurien played an instrumental role in the development of the dairy industry. Dr. Verghese Kurien’s birth centenary and Amul’s successfully completion of 77 years of serving Indian milk producers and consumers by organizing Walkathon.

The walkathon was attended by around 150 members of all DBRAIT students, faculty and Amul Distributors of Islands and others local citizens.

Port Blair, Nov. 26: The South Andaman District Police has succeeded in solving a blind burglary case within a short span of time showing professionalism resulting in the arrest and apprehension of accused persons namely (i) Jitan Kalu Solanki, R/o Sr.No. 106 Gosavi Vasti near Pune Solapur Highway, Headapsar, Pune City, Maharashtra and (ii) Palash Sarkar, R/o Humfrygunj involved in the crime. The stolen amount of Approx. 14 Lakhs was returned to the victim.

Diglipur, Nov. 26: To curb down the bootlegging activities and fight against the menace to eradicate the trade of illegal sale of illicit liquor from the society, the team of Kalighat Police Station takes decisive action against illicit liquor production in Talbagan jungles, resulting destruction of around 1500 liters of lehan prepared in 3 drums & 22 Plastic buckets.

In a strategic operation on the direction of SI Shilpi Singha, SHO Kalighat, a team consisting of PCs Sushil Sarkar, Ranjit Biswas, Suresh Soreng and Baikanto Majhi of PS Kalighat successfully destroyed 1500 liters of illegally produced Lehan in the dense jungles of Talbagan. This action is part of the continuous efforts to curb the illegal production and distribution of alcohol in the region.
