Port Blair, Feb 27: ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute (CIARI) for the first time conducted skill development training on “Freshwater Ornamental Fish Culture for Entrepreneurship Development for Nicobarese Youth” at ICAR-CIARI, Garacharma, on February 23–25, 2024. The training was conducted under the Schedule Tribe Component in association with NABARD, Port Blair, and DST, New Delhi under the chairmanship of Dr. E. B. Chakurkar, Director, ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair.

Port Blair, Feb. 27: The Chief Electoral Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri B.S Jaglan, IAS is on a day long visit to Campbell Bay, the Southernmost Tehsil of A&N Islands. He reached Campbell Bay today, underscoring the importance of meticulous preparations for upcoming General Election to Lok Sabhha, 2024. In a proactive move to ensure seamless electoral process, the CEO convened a meeting with Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay, Shri Abhishekh Gulia, the AERO, Campbell Bay, Shri P.K. Singh and all Sector Officers of Great Nicobar Island at APWD, Guest House.

Port Blair, Feb 27: The Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) in co-ordination with Blood Center, G.B. Pant Hospital, Directorate of Health Services, supported Pondicherry University, Brookshabad Campus, Port Blair to organize a blood donation camp at Library Hall, Pondicherry University, Port Blair campus today. Altogether 34 units of blood were donated by Red Ribbon Club member and the voluntary donors.

Port Blair, Feb 27: The ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute (CIARI) in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology (DST) organized a workshop on NICMIS an ICT tool for the Nicobarese youths on 24.02.2024 at ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair with an aim to sensitize the participants about the challenges and threats faced by the marine ecosystems of the Nicobar Archipelago and to familiarize the participants with the trial version of NICMIS (Nicobar Coastal Management Information System) a user-friendly application designed for the use of Nicobar traditional people in Car Nicobar.

Rangat, Feb. 27: Keeping its commitment of extension of various Social Security Assistances to all eligible beneficiary workmen, Andaman & Nicobar Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (ANBOCWWB) organized an ‘Awareness-cum-Interaction Session’ followed by ‘Spot Registration Camp’ for the benefit of Building and Other Construction Workers of Middle Andaman at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium, Rangat today. Altogether 300 construction workers attended the programme.
