Port Blair, Sept. 25: Pankh Andaman in collaboration with Chinmaya Mission organised a seminar cum debate on the topic, "Are duties and responsibilities of youth obscured by rights" among various colleges of Port Blair on 23rd September 2023. Colleges including ANCOL, Law college, JNRM, DBRAIT, ITI, DEIT, TGCE were present in the seminar with a total of 120 participants. Dr. Nitin Shakhya director Social Welfare department graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Port Blair, Sept. 25:  Chinmaya Mission Port Blair will be organizing week long Shrimad Bhagwat Saptah (Katha) from 29th September to 6th October 2023 at Mission Auditorium. The Katha will be held from 4.30 pm to 8 pm every day. Swami Shuddhananda Saraswati Resident Acharya of Chinmaya Mission Port Blair will be the Katha Vyas (speaker). A kalash Yatra also will be taken out on first day i.e. on 29th September at 4.30 pm from Gandhi Park to the Mission. The Mission has invited all the people to attend the programme.

Port Blair, Sept. 25: A Health Mela was organised at PHC KALIGHAT under 'AYUSHMAN BHAVAH CAMPAIGN' on 23.9.23. The Mela was inaugurated by the Up-Adhyaksh N&M Andamanm, Smti Jayanti Jyoti as the chief guest Panchayat Samiti Member Smti Nawri Tigga and other PRI Members attended the Mela.

Port Blair, Sept. 25: In continuation of fight against drugs, acting on a specific intelligence input, Police Team from Narcotics Cell, CID Unit consisting of Inspector S. Kannan, SI Mohd. Rahil Islam, SI Parvash of PS CCS, HC/1176 Sharfudeen, PC/1173 Ratan Das, PC/2772 Nandita Mistry, PC/2871 Vishal Kumar and PC/2836 M. Raja Rao under the supervision of Shri Vinay Mathur, DANIPS, Dy.SP, Narcotoics intercepted one person namely Smti Dipa Roy W/o Shri Bijoy Biswas R/o Kolkata who had arrived at Port Blair from Kolkata on 25/09/2023 by Spice Jet flight. Total 7.220 Kgs of Ganja which was clandestinely concealed in her bag, was seized from her and the said person was arrested on the spot observing all codal formalities.

Port Blair, Sept. 25: The Member of Parliament of, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to expedite the completion of two under-construction hostels inside JNRM and ANCOL, so that all girl students from different parts of Andaman & Nicobar Islands can get a safe hostel accommodation in Port Blair.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament highlighted the issue of lack of adequate hostel spaces for girl students in JNRM and ANCOL.
