Port Blair, March 11: The Hon’ble Union Minister of Earth Sciences, Shri Kiren Rijiju today laid the foundation stone for the new Office Building of Meteorological Centre, Port Blair at a function held at the premises of Meteorological Office at Shadipur. The Hon’ble Union Minister unveiled the plaque marking the laying of the foundation stone for the new Office Building in the presence of Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency, the Chief Secretary, I/C, A&N Administration, Shri Nikhil Kumar, Head, RMC Kolkata, Dr. Somnath Dutta and senior officers of the A&N Administration and the staff of Meteorological Office, Port Blair.

Port Blair, Mar. 11: Shri Kiren Rijiju, Hon’ble Union Minister of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India laid the Foundation stone for the Marine Fish Rearing Facility at Atal Centre for Ocean Science and Technology for Islands (ACOSTI).  The inauguration program was presided over by Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor A&N Islands & the Vice Chairman Island Development Agency, Smt. Nandini Paliwal, IAS, Commissioner-cum- Secretary Fisheries, Dr. G. A. Ramdass, Director, NIOT, Dr. G. Dharani, Group Head, MBT-NIOT and Dr. Dilip Kumar Jha, Officer-in-Charge, ACOSTI, also participated in the inaugural ceremony.

Mitha Khari, March 11: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma laid the foundation stone for construction of a fence around the Christian Graveyard at Ranchi Basti area of Ward number 2 under Mitha Khadi gram panchayat on 09 March 2024. 

An amount of Rs. 40 lakh has been sanctioned under MPLADS funds for this work.
