Rangat, Feb 4: D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee visited Billiground, Swadesh Nagar and Shivapuram areas on 2nd February 2024 and met a number of PRI functionaries of the area and important persons.  

In the evening Ayyappan, who is also the Vice President of CITU A & N State Committee, addressed two meetings of the workers at Betapur. Addressing the workers, Ayyappan said that the BJP government at the centre has rejected the proposal sent by the A & N Administration for regularization of the services of the daily rated mazdoors working under the Administration despite the commitment made in the Supreme Court. He said that the Administration had assured the Supreme Court in the case Admiral DK Joshi-vs-ASNVNS that services of all the 7524 DRMs working in various departments under the Administration will be regularized. He called upon the workers to participate in the proposed agitations to be organized by CITU demanding regularization of the services of DRMs.   

Port Blair, Feb 4: With a view to promote mental and physical well-being amongst the residents of A&N Islands, the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, A&N Administration conducted a three days free Yoga Camp from Feb. 2 to 4, 2024 at Corbyn’s Cove Beach and at Marina Park. During the camp, yoga training on Surya Namaskar and Chadra Namaskar were imparted to the participants. Yoga enthusiasts were seen enjoying the morning air of Corbyn’s Cove while they practiced the Surya Namaskar amidst the tranquil atmosphere. At the picturesque Marina Park too, people of all ages were seen practicing the Chadra Namaskar as they enjoyed the cool marina sea breeze and the scenic view. 

Port Blair, Feb 4: The nursery students of Mahatma Gandhi International School were taken on a fun field trip to Children’s Traffic Park at Marina Park. The field trip was organised with the purpose of introducing them to basic road safety rules. Children got an opportunity to interact with the authorities, where the Traffic Police Officer ASI Tamil Selvam and PC 531 G Varghese patiently explained each and every general road safety rule and safety measures while driving on roads. The children visited this enchanting and picturesque place as a part of the school curriculum.

Port Blair, Feb 4: On 04.02.2024, the Rangat Police executed a swift and efficient operation. They successfully confiscated a substantial quantity of Lehan in the dense forest of Kalsi, under the jurisdiction of PS Rangat.

Port Blair, Feb 4: Invent Public School, Prothrapur celebrated its Annual Athletic Meet VOLAR 2024 in the presence of Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Former Member of Lok Sabha as the chief guest. The event was held at GSSS Bathu Basti Ground on 3rd Feb with great enthusiasm. The chief guest distributed the medals to the winner and also blessed the children.
