Port Blair, Jan 24: In a recent meeting with the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma requested for Conversion of Lands to House sites so that the general public can construct their houses.

The Member of Parliament emphasized many retirees, who have invested their lifetime savings to build homes, are facing huge problems as they are not able to convert their respective land into house sites.

Mayabunder, Jan. 24: The 20th Netaji Subhas Mela was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andaman in the presence of SP (N&M), Hon'ble Judges of the District, all HoOs, PRIs and general public yesterday at Netaji Sports Complex, Mayabunder. The Mela is being organized after a gap of 3 years. All line Departments had set up their stalls at the Mela which saw enthusiastic participation by various Departments, PRIs, School students and general public. The highlight of the mega event was the lively cultural performances presented by the school students, presentations by cultural troupes besides food stalls, handicraft and handloom display.

Port Blair, Jan 24: The A&N AIDS Control Society (ANACS) is organizing Mid Media campaign through folk performance along with Mobile Information Education and Communication (IEC) Van form 23rd January 2024 to 08th February 2024 in A&N Islands.

Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director ANACS launched the campaign and flagged off the IEC van on 23rd January 2024.

Port Blair, Jan 24: On 23rd January 2024, Port Blair Municipal Council in collaboration with GIZ India conducted an orientation programme on waste management for Gated Colonies, School and Government offices of Port Blair city.

The objective of the program was to ensure the proper waste management services in gated communities, schools, and government offices with a commitment to environmental sustainability and community well-being. Port Blair Municipal Council aims to revolutionize waste disposal practices and contribute to a cleaner, healthier future. There were 30 schools, 06 colleges, 19 departments and 08 gated colonies representative who participated (201) in the program.
