11 Year Old Andaman Girl Donates Her Hair for Cancer Patients for the Third Time in a Row

Port Blair, Oct. 27: This is the third time that an eleven-year old Betty from Andaman & Nicobar Island has donated her long-grown hair for the Cancer patients getting treated in the mainland hospitals. It was first at the age of four that Betty donated her hair for the first time to Cancer Institute, Adiyar, which was followed by hair donation at the age of 7 years to Madat Foundation. Betty was expecting to donate early this year but due to Corona Virus Pandemic, things had got delayed. Finally the generous Andaman girl made it again today at the age of 11 years, when she could donate her 14 inches long hair.

The eleven year old Betty, a student of Carmel Sr. Sec. School is the daughter of Biju Jacob and Swapna Jacob, who had briefed Betty about the good deeds that can be done by donating one’s hair to the needy.

With her third donation, Betty is perhaps the youngest girl in the country to have donated her long-grown hair for three times in a row.

Andaman Chronicle takes this opportunity to congratulate Betty for her generosity, while taking this opportunity to appeal to the readers to take up such an act that may prove to be a blessing in disguise to the needy.
