Hands Over Certificates to Applicants
Port Blair, Nov. 8: As part of the “Prashasan Aapke Dwaar” initiative under the aegis of the District Administration, South Andaman, a revenue camp court was held by Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner (SA) at Panchayat Bhawan, Shoal Bay, the farthest village from the headquarters. Shri Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, SP, Shri Hari Kallilkkat, IAS, SDM, Shri Kalaivannan, IPS, SDPO (B/Flat), Shri Lakshay Singhal, IAS and other officers of the District Administration and line departments attended the camp court.
During the Camp Court, general public and their community representatives raised various major issues, which included (1) Condition of State Highway and the difficulties faced by the commuters (2) Disruption of power supply due to falling of branches of trees (3) Poor Network connectivity (4) Removal of trees posing danger to lives and properties and (5) Resolving Revenue-Forest Boundary disputes.
The Deputy Commissioner (SA) assured to take up work of maintenance of roads and removal of trees on the roadsides posing danger to vehicular traffic immediately with the concerned officials of APWD. He also assured to look into the issue of improving communication facilities. As regards resolving Revenue-Forest boundary disputes, he directed the revenue officers to explore the possibilities during the Revenue Survey Operations in the near future.
Responding to a request for providing land for Community Kitchen Garden proposed to be undertaken by Women Self Help Groups, Deputy Commissioner (SA) asked the Special Officer, Gram Panchayat to initiate timely action for earmarking some portion of land under its possession near Gram Panchayat Bhawan.
The applicants who had applied for various e-Tehsil services like Income Certificate and Senior Certificate etc., were handed over the same during the camp. Besides this, specific instructions were also issued to the concerned revenue field functionaries in response to various petitions filed by the residents of the village.
The DC (SA) assured the general public that suitable steps shall be taken to redress the issues that were pending for long time, taking into consideration the remoteness of the village from the District Headquarters.
Further SP (SA) also assured the gathering that frequent police patrolling by the Police teams and establishment of Police outpost to ensure the safety of the public.
Smti Mary Puspha, Ex-Pradhan of Shoal Bay Gram Panchayat reiterated the issues raised by the general public and expressed the hope that the same shall be resolved at the earliest and thanked the DC(SA) and his team for organising the revenue camp at Shoal Bay at the furthest point from Port Blair.
