Port Blair, Nov. 12: An event was organised on 12th Nov 2020 at the premises of Seva Niketan, Child Care Institute, after the week long festivities conducted by District Administration to mark the celebration of Children’s Day. The Deputy Commissioner South Andaman Shri Suneel Anchipaka graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with Shri Hari Kallikkat SDM, South Andaman as the Guest of Honour.

The Programme started with welcome Speech by District Child Protection Officer, South Andaman Mrs. Meghna Pal Gobind wherein she gave a brief about the activities conducted by the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) that include “Movie festival with Popcorn”, Planting a tree” and “Food Festival” as part of weeklong Children’s day celebration. Thereafter, prizes were distributed to the winners of the various competition and appreciation certificate to the children of Child Care Institutes who has performed outstanding in their academic CBSE Board during 2019-2020. It is also observed that all the children of Child Care Institutes have passed in exams with flying colours.

While addressing the gathering the Deputy Commissioner Shri Suneel Anchipaka talked about all round development of Children and motivated the Incharges of Child Care Institute to encourage children for peer learning and reading habits especially the autobiography of great personalities. The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to all Child Care Institutes Incharges to encourage the same. He also assured that all the support by DCPU Team to all the Child Care Institutes will be available round the clock.

The entire event was moderated by Ankita Saha Protection Officer Institutional Care DCPU.

The Programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by Shri A. Chakraborthy, Incharge of Seva Niketan.
