New Delhi, Dec. 2: The School of Military Affairs, Strategy and Logistics, Rashtriya Raksha University, Gandhinagar organized an Expert lecture by Lt Gen Dr Subrata Saha (Veteran), Dean of the School of Military Affairs, Strategy and Logistics, RRU, Member of the National Security Advisory Board and former Deputy Chief of the Army Staff. Lt Gen Saha spoke on the ‘India China Standoff’.
Elaborating upon the various security and geographical challenges in the Indo-Chinese border, Lt Gen Saha spoke about in detail the various standoffs which India has had with China including the recent Galwan standoff in 2020.
Highlighting Tibet’s geographical richness which the Chinese wants to exploit, Lt Gen Saha said that India must keep a close watch on Chinese investments in the region. The region’s critical role as a resource sink for China makes it a strategically important region, pointed out Lt Gen Saha.
He explained how China’s strategy of intrusion, assertion and negotiation has been the way it functions in its disputes with India. Praising the current Government’s efforts in strengthening the infrastructure across the border, Lt Gen Saha has cited this rapid border development as a flashpoint for Chinese intrusion. He also stated that the Chinese Army was shocked at the valiant defence put up by the Indian Army during the standoff at the Galwan Valley.
The School of Military Affairs, Strategy and Logistics conducts courses in defence and strategic studies at the Rashtriya Raksha University.
