Port Blair, Dec. 3: The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Shri Suneel Anchipaka along with the SDM (SA) and AC(U/T) visited Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 on a follow-up inspection of the water conservation project being developed by the active participation of the School Children with the support of District Administration.

The water conservation pond which is coming up would be an integrated project comprising of fishing, walkway, tree plantation etc. The materials used in this project would be waste-to-wealth and eco-friendly materials. The entire project has been planned and executed by the School Children to make the students Water Conservation Ambassadors and also to make the School self-sufficient in terms of water management. The entire project is helping the students in peer to peer learning and also develop culture of water conservation in their homes. The project has been planned and executed by the School children with the consistent support of the District Administration.

The school has already formed an Eco-Club and Nature club which would also converge various activities related to rainwater harvesting.

The DC (SA) has assured all kind of help required by the school management in the successful completion of the project.
