Port Blair, Dec. 6: With the motto of zero tolerance towards illegal sale of liquor, the District Administration is hitting hard on bootleggers in South Andaman District.
The control room of District Administration received information on 05th December 2020 regarding the illegal sale of liquor in Phoenix Bay area. On receipt of information, the Excise team of District Administration deputed team for surprise raid of the premises. Accordingly, the District Excise team seized the liquor and the manager of the shop was handed over to police for further legal action.
Taking cognizance in the matter, the premises has been sealed by the District Administration and the concerned SHO has been directed to take necessary action against the persons indulged in these illegal activities.
The District Administration hereby cautions all persons indulged in illegal sale of liquor to refrain from such activities. Strict action under relevant provisions of law will be initiated against the violators.
General public is hereby requested to intimate any such illegal activities in District Control Room number 1077.
