Port Blair, April 3: The CPI (M) has observed Protest Day on 2nd April 2022 throughout the country to protest against the   increasing prices of  petrol, diesel and LPG in  the country.  At the call given by the CPI (M) Central Committee, a protest demonstration was organized by the CPI (M) near Tiranga Park, Aberdeen Bazar, Port Blair. 

Addressing the gathering, Shri D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee criticized the central government for the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel on daily basis.  He said that along with this, prices of LPG and other petroleum products have also been hiked.  He said that this increase is an additional burden on the people who are already suffering from galloping price rise of all essential commodities in the country.  He said that the CPI (M) will continue to fight on people’s issues.  

Addressing the participants of the programme, Shri B. Chandachoodan, State Secretariat Member said that the Modi government has been continuing anti-people policies ever since it came to power in 2014.  

Shri D. Laxman Rao, State Secretariat Member blamed the BJP government and A&N Administration for the hardship being faced by the islanders.  Shri TS Sreekumar, State Organising Committee Member of the party also spoke on the occasion.
