Port Blair, April 3: Working professionally, the team of PS Pahargaon solved an attempt to murder case of a young girl in Garacharma and arrested the absconding person within 24 Hrs.
On 30th March 2022, an 18 year old girl was brutally assaulted with a machete inside her house at Garacharma Murdakhari Road by the offender Srikant Sardar. On receipt of information, an FIR vide No. 57/22 dated 30/03/2022 U/s 450/307 IPC was registered at PS Pahargaon. The offender absconded from the spot and went underground.
Acting swiftly, two teams consisting of HC/A Raja, PC/Manikandan, PC/Jagdish Babu, PC/ Amit Kumar, PC/ Santosh Kumar Yadav, PC/Ashok Kumar, PC/ Lenda Horo, PC/Cheriya Uraon and PC/ Suresh were formed under the supervision of Insp. Girish Kumar, SHO PD Pahargaon for search and arrest of the absconding accused person. The teams followed several leads including sifting through various CCTV footages of the locality and examining several witnesses. Finally, the teams were able to track the accused who was hiding near Fish Landing Jetty, Junglighat. The accused was nabbed by the team and the weapon of offence was also recovered. The accused has been identified as Srikant Sardar, S/o Chamu Sardar, 33, Pvt. Worker, R/o Garacharma.
