Port Blair, April 3: In a function organised at Waste to Wonders Park, the Navodhaya Foundation felicitated all those who contributed in transforming a Dumpyard at Junglighat to a Selfie Point.

The programme was attended by Shri. Kishore Kshirsagar, IAS, Secretary APWD, Smt. U. Kavitha Udhay Kumar, Chairperson, PBMC, Shri. Azizur Rehman, Senior Vice Chairman, PBMC, Shri. Anand Vardhan Mishra, DANICS, Joint Secretary, PBMC, Shri. Abinash Kumar Singh, Superintendent Engineer, PBMC and other senior officials of PBMC.

Smt. Protima Banerjee, Director and Shri.Saikat Biswas, President of Navodhaya Foundation jointly hosted the programme. Protima briefed the gathering about the various social and environmental projects being executed by Navodhaya Foundation.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri.Kishore Kshirsagar appreciated Navodhaya Foundation and PBMC for developing a Dumpyard to art work and green patch. He assured all cooperation from Andaman Administration for all such initiatives to save the environment.

Shri. Anand Vardhan Mishra, DANICS, Joint Secretary, PBMC briefed on the Swachta Survekshan survey presently being held in Port Blair and appealed to the citizens to take active part in Swachta Survekshan.

The SAT team of PBMC presented a skit on waste segregation. A dance programme was also organised for the entertainment of the local residents.

Shri. Saikat Biswas, President of Navodhaya Foundation appraised the gathering about the Neki ki Deewar set up in the park, where local residents can donate their used clothes, foot wear, toys etc. which is further distributed to the needy. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri.Tarun Singh, General Secretary of the foundation.
