Port Blair, Sept. 6: The Hindu Rashtra Shakti, A&N Islands has raised serious objections on the kind of songs played, street fights, gang wars etc. especially during the visarjan of the idols. The HRS in a letter to the Lt. Governor pointed out that its team realized that most of the people participating in the visarjan are under the influence of alcohol. The situations goes to the extent that even the Policemen deployed are not able to control the indecent approach of the participants.

As a solution, the HRS requested the Lt. Governor to order closure of bars during such events and also order formation of a team of officials to conduct surprise investigation to put a curb on such activities during holy festivals.
