Port Blair, Sept. 6: Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Secretary (Rural Development)/Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman and Shri Kishore Kshirsagar Lakshman, IAS, Secretary (APWD) along with Shri Rahul Dev Boora and Shri Vinayak Chamadia, IAS (Probationers) with officials from Revenue Department, Block, APWD and PRIs members visited several areas under Bambooflat Gram Panchayat to look into the feasibility of development of the area.

The team inspected the proposed site for the development of amusement park at Shore Point and instructed the Senior Architect, APWD to prepare design and plan as per the topography of the identified and proposed site of 2.00 hects land. For the purpose of set apart of land for park at Shorepoint village, area identified is a combination of some part of Bambooflat village and some part of Shorepoint village just beneath the existing Tsunami shelters area (0.3360 hects for amusement park and 1.6640 hects) which has been set apart for Amusement Park.

The land alongside sea wall near Bambooflat jetty was also explored for the purpose of parking place for Jeep operators and tourist vehicles. Thereafter, the team visited the landing spot of the bridge as part of Andaman Marine Drive at the location of Shorepoint village.

Further, the team inspected the proposed site for pedestrian pathway from Bambooflat Jetty upto Hopetown. The team along with Deputy Commissioner also inspected the site for Volley Ball Court and parking place at Hope town alongside Hopetown Jetty on the request of PRIs. The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman on the spot issued directions for set apart of the landed property (500 sq. mtrs) and which has been set apart by evening which will be beneficial for the local youths for sports activities.

Interaction with IOCL officials was also done for identification of land for community hall purpose. Directions were issued to the concerned officials for contour mapping, survey in a time bound manner and further developmental activities will be explored after completion of the above survey works.
