CCS Arrests a Passenger From Kolkata With Drugs

Port Blair, Sept. 11: Acting on a specific intelligence from reliable source, Police team from Central Crime Station consisting of SI M.A.Rasheed, HC/264 Sanjay Kujur, PC/1067 N.Thangaraj & PC/2836 Raja Rao intercepted one person namely Kuudus Mistri S/o Shri. Mojam Mistri (37) ILLEGAL SAWN PADAUK TIMBERS SEIZED AND TWO PERSONS APPREHENDED BY CENTRAL CRIME STATION

Acting on a specific intelligence input from reliable source, Police team from Central Crime Station consisting of SI Parvash, HC/707 S. Baroi, HC/254 Sanjay Kujur, PC/2079 G. Ravi and PC/1143 K. Rajendran apprehended two persons namely M. Muthu Kumar S/o Shri. Murgeshan (35) yrs, Pvt. Labour R/o New Bimblitan and A. Xavier S/o Late Arokiyan (47) yrs, Pvt. Labour R/o Old Bimblitan at Paddauk Bagicha, 6 No. near Nayashahar Dam, New Bimblitan with 12 pieces of illegal sawn padauk timber of different sizes along with sawing equipment.  Padauk timbers were seized and accused persons were detained observing all codal formalities.

Accused persons along with seized articles were handed over to officials of Forest Department, Garacharma Range for further necessary action.

The identity of the informer will be kept secret.yrs R/o Dakshin Garankati, South 24 Parganas, Kultali, West Bengal at entry gate of ITF ground who arrived Port Blair from Kolkata on 09/09/2022 by flight. During checking of his personnel belongings, 400 grams of Ganja which was clandestinely concealed in the bag was seized and accused person was arrested observing all codal formalities.

 A case under relevant sections of NDPS Act-1985 has been registered at PS CCS and investigation is on.
