Port Blair, Nov. 6: The Ministry of Minority Affairs, GoI is implementing the Central Sector Scheme- Seekho Aur Kamao (Learn& Earn) for Skill Development of Minorities. The scheme aims at upgrading the skills of the minority youth in various modern/traditional vocations depending upon their educational qualification, present economic trends and the market potential, which can earn them a suitable employment or make them suitably skilled to go for self-employment. The scheme is implemented through selected expert Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs). It ensures placement of minimum 75% trainees, out of which at least 50% placement is in organized sector.

The eligible trainees/beneficiaries should belong to minority community, should be between 14-35 years of age, should have minimum qualification of at least Class V. In case seat for reserved categories as prescribed under this scheme remain vacant, these vacant seats may be treated as unreserved.

Monthly stipend for local Non-residential trainees would be Rs. 2,000/- per month and for Residential trainees would be Rs. 1,000/- per month. Post Placement Support (PPS) of Rs. 2,000/- per month will be given to all placed candidates for two months.
