Port Blair, Dec. 30: A number of patriotic songs dedicated to the motherland presented by the well-known artistes from these Islands entertained the audience at Corbyn’s Cove Beach here this evening. The Tourism Department in association with the Department of Art & Culture & Kala Kendra Society organized a Patriotic Musical evening to commemorate the anniversary of First Flag Hoisting by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in these Islands.

The singers through their renditions paid rich tributes to the martyrs who fought for the cause of the motherland. The artistes of Melody Stars and Sur Saptak presented an array of songs that not only were in praise of the nation, but also paid great tributes to the freedom fighters of the country. The musical renditions also focused on the heritage of India as well as the diversity and unity. Songs such as ‘yahan har kadam kadam pe dharti badle rang’, ‘Aye mere watan ke logo’ captivated the audience at the sprawling Corbyn’s Cove Beach.
