Port Blair, Feb 24: On the occasion of the 75th 'Amrit Mahotsav' of Independence, Sant Nirankari Mission in the holy presence of Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj and Nirankari Rajpita Ji will be launching 'Clean Water, Clean Mind' under 'Amrit Project' on Sunday, February 26. The main objective of this project is to plan and implement 'water conservation' and various activities to be adopted for its protection. The point of this project is to clean the water bodies and encourage them through 'awareness campaign' among the local public.

Many works were done by Baba Hardev Singh ji for social welfare throughout his life, in which cleanliness and tree plantation campaign was started and taking inspiration from his teachings, like every year, this year, Sant Nirankari Mission under the direction of Nirankari Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj. 'Amrit Project' is being organized.

Respected Mr. Joginder Sukhija, Secretary of Sant Nirankari Mission, gave detailed information about this project that this project will be organized on a large scale in 730 cities, 27 states and union territories in about 1100 places all over India mainly Andhra Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Daman and Diu, Delhi, Gujarat, Goa, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha , Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal etc. are included.

In this project, about 1.5 lakh volunteers of Nirankari Mission, through their cooperation, 'water conservation' and 'water bodies' such as beaches, rivers, lakes, ponds, wells, puddles, johads, various springs, water tanks, drains and water streams etc. will make it clean and pure. Almost all the branches of the Mission will participate in this campaign and if necessary, individual branches will also contribute collectively in all these activities in the designated areas.

Cleanliness of main embankments of southern regions of India under 'Amrit Project' including Konkan belt from Surat, Mumbai to Goa, Karnataka, Kerala coast lines of Malabar Coast and Western Ghats bordering Arabian Sea and south of Coromandel Coast the East Coast areas will be covered by teams of volunteers. In addition, the Bay of Bengal in the east, and the Kaveri delta in the south will also be covered.

Rivers: Major rivers have also been included in this campaign, mainly from the northern region, Beas, Ganga, Yamuna and Ghaghra; Chambal, Betwa, Narmada, Krishna, Tapti, Son rivers from the central region; Sabarmati, Mahi, Tawa from the western sector; Mahanadi, Godavari from the eastern region and Krishna, Kaveri, Kollidam etc. from the southern region are prominent.

Systems used for the cleanliness of beaches and rivers: Beaches, ghats and river banks will be cleaned by the volunteers of the Mission by removing plastic waste, waste material, bushes, waste food items, which are often found in areas with natural water bodies.

Apart from this, moss found in natural and artificial water sources will be removed with the help of net sticks and other equipment. Apart from this, trees and other shrubs will be planted by a group of volunteers to clean the roads and to beautify the places for walking and walking in the surrounding areas so that the environment remains green and beautiful.

Awareness campaign: This activity is most important in all areas whether it is natural water body or manmade. In this campaign mainly display of slogans, banners, hoardings displaying messages about 'water conservation' and 'good water practices', importance of water and its importance through 'street plays' during cleaning activities. Creating awareness on conservation, Rallies/marchs/padyatras for water in local areas, presentation of songs on water conservation, awareness of water borne diseases, folk dances, songs and other cultural activities and awareness on 'water conservation' through social media platforms etc. is important.

Undoubtedly, this project is a commendable and commendable effort for environmental balance, natural beauty and cleanliness.
