Port Blair, Feb 24: The National President of Indian Pharmacist Association - IPA, Shri. Abhay Kumar met Shri. Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chief Secretary of Andaman & Nicobar administration at Secretariat, in Port Blair on 24/02/2023. Abhay requested for early completion of recruitment process for Pharmacist Grade III under DHS. He has stated that -

The recruitment notice for 25 post of Pharmacist under the Directorate of Health Services was called in the year 2018 after a gap of almost 09 yrs. Thereafter a revised notice was published in 2019 with 28 posts and after scrutiny the list of 531 candidates eligible to appear for exam was published. The candidates were waiting for the exam for the last 03years. On 17th Nov 2022 notice for the written exam was published by the DHS. It was a sigh of relief for many students who were waiting for the exam procedure to be completed which was scheduled for 18/12/22. It was heart-breaking for the candidates who have already download the Hall ticket to appear for the exam to see the notice published on 09/12/22 in The Daily Telegram newspaper, that the scheduled exam for recruitment for the post of Pharmacist grade III was postponed due to administrative reasons.

Sir, this will also spell doom for those who are in the verge of being over-aged due to prolonged delay in the matter and could be the last chance to appear for any type of government job. Moreover, many candidates have travelled from many destinations to appear for this particular exam and early conduction of the exam will curtail their long stay and expenditure at Port Blair.

Sir, it is further to state that there are as many as 40 unfilled posts of Pharmacist under ANIIMS, which can also fill up by calling fresh recruitment notice.

With the firm belief that administration will take positive action in this regard for the benefit of eligible candidates declared by the administration in 2019 itself and examination will be conducted at an earliest without any further delay. Sir, the timely conduction of exam will also ensure that the time and resources that the A&N Administration and Directorate of Health Services have spared in the matter doesn’t go in vain and a fruitful result comes out.

Shri. Keshav Chandra immediately spoke to the Secretary (Health) in this regard and conveyed that as soon as the consent form the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance is received from Delhi, the process will be completed.
