Port Blair, March 1: Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) account for more than 63% death in the country due to socio-economic determinants and its impacts. Most NCDs are strongly associated and casually linked with major behaviour risk factors such as tobacco use (smoking & smokeless), alcohol use, poor dietary habits, insufficient physical activity and air pollution.

In order to promote the physical and mental wellbeing and environment friendly conveyance, the District Administration through its District Health Society, South Andaman is organizing a Cyclathon (Women Cycle Rally) on the occasion of International Women’s Day with the theme of ‘Healthy Women, Healthy India’ on Mar 6, 2023 starting at 7 am from the office of the Deputy Commissioner (SA) and culminate at Flag Point, Port Blair.
