Rangat, April 17: The Middle Andaman, Forest Division organized people interaction program “SAMWAD SE SAMADHAN” with all public representatives, Panchayati Raj Institution members, Field Officers, Administrative and Police Officers. Adhyaksh Zilla Parishad, Pramukh, Assistant Commissioner, Rangat and Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Middle Andaman also graced the occasion and brought several public issues for the solution. Issues were largely covering matter of Cutting of Dangerously standing trees, Mitigating Human-Wildlife conflict (Snake and Crocodile), Forest Fire, Forest/wildlife offences, Development of eco-tourism sites, Encroachment related matters, Development of Lalaji Bay and Mark Bay Beach as ideal eco-tourism destination and Forest Clearance matters.

The Samadhan meeting was held as a follow up meeting of the visit of the Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Administration last month. Speaking during the meeting, the Divisional Forest Officer, Dr. Abdul Qayum, IFS assured the public representative that time bound delivery of the services will be ensured and offenders of Forests cases or Wildlife crime will not be spared. He appreciated the support received from the public during various Forests events and also during mitigating of Human-wildlife conflict cases. He also informed while emphasizing importance of eco-tourism for the island that Department is going to start scuba diving facility at Lalaji Bay in Long Island.

He further appealed people to act as eye and ear of the Department so that the twin objective of having conservation and development can go hand in hand and Forest offence can be checked before its occurrence.
