Port Blair, April 19: During the “Fire Service Week-23”, A&N Fire Service organized Badminton Tournament from 17/04/2023 to 19/04/2023 at Dairy Farm Badminton Court for personnel of all units of Andaman & Nicobar Police. The participants enthusiastically took part in the event and made it a great success. On the occasion a brief Fire Safety Awareness session was also conducted for the personnel.
The Tournament was organized in Singles and Doubles category for which 16 personnel came for Singles and 14 personnel were there for the Doubles event.
The Winner and Runner up are as follows:
- I) Singles Badminton Tournament:-
- a) Arvind Purti, IRBn (I Prize)
- b) Shyam Murari Lall, PRO(II Prize)
- II) Doubles Badminton Tournament:-
- a) K. Mahender & Shyam Murari Lall, PRO (I Prize)
- b) Vijay Shanker & G. Kandan, AP & PMT (II Prize)
The Chief Guest, Shri. Sanjay Kumar Tyagi, DIGP(Intelligence) Welcomed the participants and briefed about the benefits of sports, for a fit and healthy life. The effort of A & N Fire Service for organising the tournament and encouraging Sports was appreciated. Smti Varsha Sharma, IPS, SSP (Fire) explained the importance of Fire Service Week being organized in A&N Islands.
Winners of the Badminton Tournament (Singles & Doubles) were felicitated with prizes by Shri Sanjay Kumar Tyagi, IPS Dy Inspector General of Police (Intelligence) A & N Police in presence of Smti Varsha Sharma, IPS, SSP (Fire) and Shri Sandeep Lamba, DySP(Fire) along with other Fire Officials. All the participants were given memento as part of Fire Safety Awareness.
