Port Blair, May 29: Chess prodigy R Kashthuri Bhai once again excels and brought laurels to the Islands by winning the fifth place in the below 1800 Rating category in the Chess Capital 1st International Open Fide Rating Chess Tournament – 2024 held in Chennai, Tamilnadu from May 22 to 26, 2024.
She played brilliantly and scored 6.5 points from 9 rounds with 6 wins and a draw and secured the fifth position in the below 1800 Rating category. She was awarded a cash prize and a certificate for this achievement.
Around 470 players from India and abroad took part in this tournament.
