Port Blair, June 21: The Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) celebrated the ‘10th International Day of Yoga - 2024’ at INS Utkrosh on 21 Jun 24 espousing the theme “Yoga for Self and Society” and sub theme “Yoga for Women Empowerment”. Over 1000 personnel including families from all components of Andaman & Nicobar Command participated in the event with great fervor to embrace the essence of the Yoga for self and social development. Air Marshal Saju Balakrishnan, AVSM, VM, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman & Nicobar Command (CINCAN) graced the occasion.

The Yoga session connecting body, mind and soul was conducted by Yoga enthusiasts, Cdr Chhavi Singh (Retd) and Mrs Vipasha Bhardwaj. The participants performed various sitting/ standing Yogasnas and Pranayama followed by meditation techniques in a synchronized manner. This collective practice created a sense of unity and harmony, demonstrating the power of yoga in connecting individuals and fostering a shared sense of purpose.

In addition, simultaneous Yoga sessions were conducted at various ANC outstation units from northernmost Island to Southernmost Indira Point including INS Kohassa at Diglipur, Coast Guard Station Kamorta, Air Force Station Car Nicobar, INS Kardip at Kamorta, INS Baaz and TA Battalion at Campbell Bay. Yoga was also conducted onboard Naval and Coast Guard ships in harbour and those deployed at sea. Yoga and meditation sessions were also conducted at Navy Children School, Port Blair to sculpt young minds and their bodies giving tools that will enrich and support children to be balanced, creative and calm individuals from an early age.

The 10th International Day of Yoga celebrations radiated an atmosphere of unity, well-being and positive energy.
