Mayabunder, June 24: The Deputy Commissioner (N&MA), Mayabunder, Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, along with Shri Atul Soni, Assistant Commissioner (MA), Rangat, and Tehsildar Rangat, conducted an extensive visit to various Gram Panchayats in Rangat Tehsil on June 22, 2024. The visit was aimed at reviewing developmental projects in areas concerning water, electricity, roads etc. and other public grievances.

A meeting was convened under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (N&MA) with Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), HoDs/HoOs of line Departments, NHIDCL and the general public at Dasarathpur, Rampur, Sabari, Bakultala, Kaushalyanagar, Kadamtala, Uttara, Sundargarh,and Nilambur Panchayats. The purpose of this meeting was to address and resolve the grievances of the community.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner engaged in discussions with the PRIs and HoDs from various Departments, addressing their concerns. A major issue highlighted was the current state of the electric supply to these areas. The Deputy Commissioner investigated the root causes of the supply disturbances, particularly those, where electric lines are damaged by trees and branches. In order to make Rangat Tehsil water self-sufficient, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed current projects taken by APWD & PRIs. He also reviewed NH-4 projects along with NHIDCL officials and asked them to speed up the ongoing project.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned Department to identify and resolve these issues promptly, with the assistance of other relevant Departments. Additionally, he took note of the challenges faced by the general public and instructed the concerned Departments to resolve these matters as soon as possible.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of tracking and resolving issues raised by the PRIs and the general public. He assured all Departments of his support in mitigating any problems encountered.

Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner conducted an on-site inspection of the VKV ZP School in Kadamtala to assess issues related to land sliding. He directed the officials concerned to put up a report for resolution of this matter. This visit reflects the commitment of the Administration to ensuring the development and well-being of the communities in Rangat Tehsil.
